About The Position

This role is responsible for performing district ocean import operations and providing all associated documentation. The position requires close collaboration with sales teams to respond to customer needs and maintain clear communication with customers, carriers, and other offices/agents. Key tasks include managing documentation, opening files in the Transportation Management System (TMS), notifying customers of arrivals and charges, generating freight transfers, tracking cargo, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring accurate billing and payment processes.

Requirements

  • College or AA degree from an accredited college.
  • One or two years minimum experience in F/F Ocean operations processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform district ocean import operations and provide all associated documentation.
  • Work closely with sales, account managers, or sales offices to respond to customer needs.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and other offices/agents in a quick and thorough manner.
  • Obtain documentation from carrier operators, match them with pre-alerts from origin Morrison offices, and open files in the Transportation Management system (TMS/Prolink).
  • Notify customers/brokers of product arrival and associated charges.
  • Manage the invoicing process.
  • Generate freight transfers and support them with appropriate documentation.
  • Track cargo arrival prior to arrival and update FMS milestones as per company guidelines.
  • Communicate timely with clients to set up and complete delivery of shipments.
  • Issue delivery orders to carriers/truckers to arrange timely delivery.
  • Complete all inbound moves, including ITs and permits to transfer.
  • Obtain all necessary documents and charges prior to releasing freight.
  • Supply sufficient documentation to accurately verify carrier invoices before payment approval.
  • Trace lost freight and shortages, follow up with airlines/shipping lines, and inform all involved stations/agents.
  • File preliminary notices of claim.
  • Ensure each file contains all necessary documentation in the correct sequence.
  • Notify all parties that payable and receivable documents are completed accurately and forwarded in a timely manner.
  • Develop clear, concise, accurate records for the Accounting department to properly credit and bill A/R and A/P.
  • Complete all tracking and billing milestones as set forth by company guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
