About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work within the Occupational Therapy department in a complex acute care environment. The unit has a daily census of approximately 250 active consults and a total of 30 staff members, with 17.29 FTEs. The staffing composition maintains a 2:1 OTR to COTA ratio, and COTAs typically manage 9-13 patients daily. The role involves conducting Occupational Therapy treatments as per patient care plans, utilizing general acute care DME and Meditech EMR. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, flexibility in adapting to acute care practice, and the ability to work independently with a high level of accountability. The team fosters a collaborative work environment with flexible scheduling options and offers considerable autonomy in patient care planning, working closely with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience in Occupational Therapy
• Active Kansas licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

• Experience in trauma care
• Experience with comprehensive stroke care
