About The Position
Independence Rehab is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist at Splendido in Oro Valley, Arizona. The position serves a geriatric population across a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and Transitional Care Unit. It may suit a new graduate or an experienced occupational therapist seeking clinical autonomy and a flexible schedule. Independence Rehab is a small, therapist-owned company that manages therapy operations independently from the facility’s nursing operations. The company emphasizes stable leadership, personalized support, respect for clinical judgment, realistic productivity expectations, and advocacy for therapists. New therapists receive onboarding, one-to-one training for documentation and evaluations, customized clinical training, and ongoing mentorship and competency support as needed.
Requirements
- Hold a current state Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
- Have a degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Be organized and self-motivated.
- Enjoy working with the geriatric population.
- Be able to supervise a COTA.
Nice To Haves
- SNF experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional activities of daily living (ADL) retraining and adaptive strategies.
- Conduct transfer training for patients at all levels.
- Provide fall-prevention and safety training.
- Treat clinically complex patients.
- Participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
- Supervise a COTA as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and facility staff.
