About The Position

Independence Rehab is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist to work at Splendido at Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley, Arizona. The role serves a geriatric population in a skilled nursing facility and Transitional Care Unit. The anticipated schedule is 0–6 hours per week, with flexible working hours and clinical autonomy. It operates therapy services separately from the nursing side of the facility.

New therapists receive onboarding and integration, one-to-one training in documentation and evaluations, clinical training tailored to their experience, and ongoing mentorship and competency support as needed. The position may suit a new graduate or an experienced occupational therapist seeking PRN work; SNF experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Current state occupational therapy license in good standing.
• Degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Organized and self-directed, with an interest in working with the geriatric population.
• Ability to supervise a COTA.

Nice To Haves

• Skilled nursing facility experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional activities of daily living retraining and adaptive strategies.
• Provide transfer training across levels of need.
• Provide fall-prevention and safety training.
• Treat clinically complex patients.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
• Supervise a COTA as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and facility staff.
