About The Position

Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding school Occupational Therapist to provide services to students with fine motor, visual motor/visual perception, and sensory motor skills. These services will help students access the WPS curriculum and participate in school and community life to the greatest extent possible. The position is full-time in the Special Education Department at Early Steps Preschool and is affiliated with WEA Unit A. It reports to the Principal. Salary is determined by the WEA Unit A contract, and the position is eligible for Town benefits.

Requirements

Master's degree.
Massachusetts license in Occupational Therapy.
Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide services to students addressing fine motor, visual motor/visual perception, and sensory motor skills.
Comply with state regulations concerning renewal of certifications and licenses.
Develop, update, and follow daily and weekly schedules, and provide a copy of the schedule to each school's principal.
Comply with WPS rules, policies, and procedures, as well as those of assigned schools and Special Education and Student Services.
Maintain records of prior planning or lessons, therapy notes for each child and therapy session, and accurate student attendance records.
