About The Position
Baptist Medical Center is hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist for its Acute Care Rehab Team at the Baptist Beaches campus in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The position provides at least 24 shift hours per week and participates in a weekend coverage rotation. The Occupational Therapist supports the Rehab Team in an acute care setting, treating a caseload that includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and general medical diagnoses. The role also provides minimal outpatient care, primarily for neuro patients and upper extremity wounds; job competency training is available for this care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist from the Florida Department of Health.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of acute care Occupational Therapist experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients in an adult acute care setting.
- Provide minimal outpatient care, mainly for neuro patients and upper extremity wounds.
- Work with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists in a team environment.
- Provide ongoing patient and family education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams outside of Rehab Services, including hospitalists, physician specialists, nursing, and social services.
- Participate in a weekend coverage rotation.
