About The Position

Liberty POST is seeking motivated and energetic pediatric Occupational Therapists for fee-for-service, per diem positions serving Nassau County school districts. An immediate caseload is available in Port Washington. The therapist provides school-based occupational therapy to children with various diagnoses, assesses and tracks progress, and adjusts treatment plans as appropriate. The role uses an electronic medical record system and requires maintaining confidential child records and documentation while following applicable New York State laws and regulations.

Liberty POST has provided individualized services since 1994 and offers evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play. Its approach emphasizes children’s natural learning environments, families’ strengths and needs, and the diverse population served. Providers work with a collaborative team of professionals.

Requirements

• Current license as an Occupational Therapist in New York State.
• Knowledge of New York State laws and regulations regarding occupational therapy.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and track children’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly using the Electronic Medical Record system.
• Conduct occupational therapy sessions for children with various diagnoses.
• Provide school-based services.
• Organize and maintain the confidentiality of children’s records and other documentation.
• Follow state laws and regulations applicable to Early Intervention.
