OT / Occupational Therapist - Chatham Township
About The Position
Flagstar Rehab is hiring an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy in a skilled nursing facility in Chatham Township, New Jersey. Occupational Therapists work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients and provide education to patients and families, with the goal of improving physical abilities, cognition, and everyday functioning. The role includes serving patients with needs related to traumatic brain injury, CVA or stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cancer, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating diagnoses. Therapists monitor and document patient progress using EMR software. The position may be offered through direct employment with Flagstar Rehab or as an independent contractor. The stated pay rates are $46–$48 per hour for W-2 employment and $57–$60 per hour for 1099 work. The employer says it can assist independent contractors with setting up a corporation free of charge.
Requirements
- Current New Jersey Occupational Therapist license and registration.
- Competence with EMR systems.
- Meet all state and federal requirements for employment in a nursing facility in the United States.
- Malpractice/liability insurance, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for COTAs to follow.
- Supervise COTAs daily.
- Provide therapy services to skilled nursing facility patients with a range of diagnoses and care needs.
- Monitor and document patient progress using EMR software.
- Provide patient and family education.
