About The Position

Performs evaluations, establishes goals and plans occupational therapy treatment programs according to research protocols for adults referred to occupational therapy by the physician or community partners. Assists with clinical program development, evaluation and related performance improvement activities as assigned by Clinical Practice manager. Delivers evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation and treatment services according to research protocols and typically offered in the clinic or community, including any follow-up services to ensure appropriate outcomes. Assures services are delivered in a safe and effective manner. Plans for two to four home visits per day. Completes all aspects of clinical documentation including billing and all other assigned documentation. Records evaluations, goals, treatment plan, client response and progressive change in the client’s record according to established protocols and adheres to all departmental and regulatory policies. Confers and collaborates with physicians, other health care practitioners, families and/or caregivers to obtain additional information; suggests revisions in treatment program and coordinates occupational therapy intervention with other care providers. Orients, instructs and directs occupational therapy assistant and occupational therapy students in patient-related activities as assigned. Participates in program development and implementation activities as assigned. Participates in performance/quality improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirement).
  • Driver's license and personal vehicle required.
  • Current licensure to practice as an occupational therapist in the State of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
  • No specific work experience is required for this position.
