About The Position

Assists the Research Manager and Principal Investigator (PI) with coordination of basic to moderately complex public health research studies. This position will assist with study coordination duties for trials in the areas of childhood mortality and malnutrition in Burkina Faso and Ethiopia, as well as any grant proposals or new studies that occur during the incumbent’s tenure. The incumbent will act as a liaison with the school, sponsoring agency, and study collaborators. They will assist with coordinating all phases of study protocol as required by the sponsoring agency to ensure study compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish cooperative working relationships with a diverse team spanning different global time zones.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 20% for study site visits and meetings.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • French proficiency or fluency.
  • Experience working with global public health research and/or clinical trials.
  • Experience applying the following guidelines: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Protection of Human Research Subjects (HSR).
  • Master of Public Health Degree.
  • Public Health, Epidemiological, Behavioral Medicine, Psychological, Sociological, Anthropological, Clinical, Or Urban Planning Research (1 Year)

Responsibilities

  • Helping to prepare protocols for study initiation.
  • Monitoring and interpreting study data regarding clinical trial subjects, including monitoring study enrollment and overall study progress.
  • Monitoring collection and shipment of samples from Burkina Faso to the United States.
  • Ordering and shipping study supplies.
  • Assisting research personnel to keep participants on study schedules.
  • Completing study forms to submit to sponsors, regulatory agencies, and/or other appropriate agencies.
  • Assisting with study budget monitoring and subcontract invoicing.
  • Liaising with the study data analyst to monitor data in study databases, maintaining data quality.
  • Assisting with preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Attending team meetings, including study progress calls with international collaborators.
  • Planning and attending site visits, including study protocol trainings and study progress meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
