About The Position

HealthPro Heritage is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist for Silver Birch of Michigan City, an assisted living facility in Michigan City, Indiana. The position is expected to start as soon as possible and pays $57.00–$61.00 per hour, depending on experience. The therapist will assess residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities; develop and deliver individualized treatment plans; educate residents and families; document care; and advocate for residents’ needs. The role requires an occupational therapy degree and a valid Indiana state license or eligibility for licensure. Physical tasks include assisting and lifting patients and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for licensure.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.

Responsibilities

Evaluate clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
Create personalized treatment plans to meet clients’ goals and enhance their functional abilities.
Educate clients and their families on improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Advocate for clients’ needs and support them in accessing community resources, services, and accommodations.
