About The Position

Pate Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide personalized, patient-centered rehabilitation care. The role helps patients restore functional abilities, develop everyday living skills, regain independence, and improve their quality of life. The therapist evaluates patients and develops goal-directed treatment plans, collaborates with patients and caregivers on functional goals, and supports discharge planning. The position also includes routinely supervising support staff and students, educating patients and caregivers, and practicing in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution, or a B.S./M.S. degree in a related field with an Occupational Therapy certification from an accredited institution.
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Texas.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must pass all pre-employment and employment verifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans for assigned patients using in-depth evaluation and physician orders.
• Establish realistic, objective functional goals based on patient and caregiver goals and the overall discharge plan.
• Routinely supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, OT students, and OTA students.
• Educate patients and caregivers about occupational therapy services, treatment procedures, and treatment goals.
• Prepare for client discharge in a timely and thorough manner, including patient and caregiver education, home visits, recommendations for home modifications and equipment needs, and procurement of recommended equipment.
• Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
