About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Inpatient Rehab is seeking an Occupational Therapist for their Rehab Services department in Pensacola, FL. This is a full-time, day shift position with a weekend rotation. The role involves assessing patients' ability to perform independent living skills, designing and implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, educating patients and families, planning discharges, and overseeing the work of certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
Document findings of patient progress.
Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.
