About The Position

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join its Inpatient Rehab team. This is a full-time, day-shift position working Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. The therapist evaluates patients and selects appropriate assessment and treatment methods based on diagnosis, age group, and physical and emotional status. The role also involves implementing and adjusting treatment plans, using treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols, and completing clinical documentation in accordance with department policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Occupational Therapist licensure.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Occupational Therapist experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policies regarding timeframe, form, and content.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
• Complete administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrate essential competencies in using treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Select evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients’ diagnoses, age groups, and physical and emotional status, and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
