About The Position

HealthPro Pediatrics is hiring a full-time, W-2 School-Based Occupational Therapist in New Orleans, Louisiana, serving one campus with students in grades Pre-K through 8th. The role pays $50–$52 per hour and includes use of an occupational therapy room with materials provided. The therapist will evaluate students’ abilities, develop and carry out individualized treatment plans, educate students and families, document services, and advocate for students’ needs. The position offers collaboration and mentorship with experienced therapists and opportunities for professional growth across school-based, outpatient pediatric, ABA, and early intervention services. Weekends, holidays, school breaks, and summer break are off. Year-round benefits are available to full-time employees, with some benefits also available to part-time employees.

Requirements

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for licensure.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.

Responsibilities

Evaluate clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation and standardized tools.
Create personalized treatment plans to meet clients’ goals and improve functional abilities.
Educate clients and families on improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Advocate for clients’ needs and help them access community resources, services, and accommodations.
