About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis East is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide care in its critical illness recovery hospital, which offers inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment and supports patients throughout their recovery.

This is a PRN/per diem, as-needed position working weekdays only at the hospital located inside Baptist East in Memphis, Tennessee. Compensation is $55.00 per hour. The role includes an extensive orientation program. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year. The position may provide potential opportunities to move into full-time work.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and occupational therapy and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
