About The Position

Flagstar Rehab is staffing Occupational Therapists for the rehabilitation departments of skilled nursing facilities throughout New York City and surrounding areas. Occupational Therapists work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team to perform evaluations and treatments and provide patient and family education, helping improve patients’ physical abilities and cognition and their ability to function in daily life. The position is located in Arverne, Queens, New York. The role includes evaluating patients, creating individualized treatment plans for COTAs to follow, supervising COTAs daily, providing therapy to individuals in a skilled nursing facility, and monitoring and documenting patient progress using EMR software. Care may involve patients with TBI, CVA or stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cancer, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating diagnoses. Flagstar Rehab offers direct employment or the option to work as an independent contractor. The company can assist with setting up a corporation at no charge. Listed pay is $46–$48 per hour for W-2 employment or $57–$60 per hour for 1099 work.

Requirements

Current New York State Occupational Therapist license and registration.
Competence with EMR systems.
Meet all state and federal requirements for employment in a nursing facility in the United States.
Malpractice/liability insurance, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for COTAs to follow.
Supervise COTAs daily.
Provide quality therapy services to individuals in a skilled nursing facility with a range of conditions and diagnoses.
Monitor and document patient progress using EMR software.
Perform evaluations and treatments and provide patient and family education to support patients’ physical abilities, cognition, and daily functioning.
