About The Position

This role is for an Occupational Therapist in the Acute Care department at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola. The position is full-time, scheduled for days, and includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The occupational therapist will assess patients' ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills, design and implement appropriate treatment plans, document patient progress, and educate patients and families. The role also involves planning for patient discharge, recommending adaptive equipment and support programs, and overseeing the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
Document findings of patient progress.
Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.
