About The Position
The Iowa Veterans Home is hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist to implement highly structured occupational therapy programs. The programs teach activities of daily living and improve perceptual-motor skills and strength. The therapist encourages and recommends participation in appropriate therapeutic program modalities.
Requirements
- Hold a license or limited permit to practice as an Occupational Therapist issued by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
- For designated positions, obtain the required Commercial Driver’s License and endorsements within the timeframe determined by the appointing authority at hire.
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on clinical records, observation, or physician referrals.
- Conduct dysphagia evaluations.
- Fabricate adaptive equipment and splints.
- Administer standardized tests and assessment tools for evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
