Amentum is seeking an Occupational Safety & Health Nurse to support their SOS Contract in Pittsburgh, PA. In a small team environment, the nurse will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Occupational Health Unit (OHU). This includes occupational and non-occupational patient evaluation and care, performing various screening occupational health tests, and evaluating test results to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, plans, policies, and procedures. The nurse will ensure medical testing results are entered into the medical database and provide hard copy results to employees as requested. They will also assist in assessing programs for regulatory compliance and best medical practices, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improvements. The role requires staying updated on occupational health issues and associated laws and regulations. Under physician direction, the nurse will provide phlebotomy services, administer immunizations and over-the-counter medications, and perform tests such as vision, pulmonary function (PFT/spirometry), EKG, UA by dipstick, and audiograms. The nurse will help determine employees needing entry into various health programs, document employee visits, injuries, illnesses, and treatments, and manage workers' compensation cases. Participation in health inspections, providing information on medical restrictions to supervisors while maintaining HIPAA compliance, referring employees for ergonomic evaluations, and participating in emergency response drills are also key responsibilities. The role includes employee training, CPR/AED/FA training, providing consultations, wellness education, site tours, and referrals as requested by DOE.
