About The Position
A lovely family near Mount Carmel in Redwood City, CA seeks an occasional babysitter for their 5-year-old child, with an immediate start. Backup care is needed on weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) from 10 am to 4 pm. The family typically provides at least one week's notice. Applicants do not need to be available for all requests, and there are no guaranteed hours. The position is for the end of summer, with potential for extension.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of paid professional childcare experience
- CPR certified, or willingness to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
- Reliable vehicle to transport child
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record & valid auto insurance
Responsibilities
- Engaging with the child; arts & crafts, playing in the backyard, walks to local park
- Light meal and snack prep for child keeping in mind of the child’s peanut allergy
