About The Position
We are seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a Locum Tenens position at an Acute Care Hospital in Dover, OH. This role involves clinical work and call coverage, with a schedule of 1-2 weeks per month, including 8-hour shifts for daily onsite/clinic work. The call schedule is 24-hour beeper coverage, 7a-7a, with evening and weekend call handled solo. The physician will manage a patient volume of 15-20 outpatients per day, with approximately 1-2 deliveries per day and 50-60 deliveries per month. Responsibilities include Labor & Delivery coverage, inpatient postpartum rounding, and ER gynecology call. The case mix is 80% OB and 20% GYN, encompassing spontaneous and scheduled C-sections, high-risk obstetric cases, GYN surgeries, and laparoscopic/minimally invasive procedures. Specialty backup is available, and support staff include nurses and midwives. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Active Ohio medical license required
- BC/BE in Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Board Certification required after 5 years of practice
- Active DEA required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Clean background required
Nice To Haves

- Epic experience preferred
- Local candidates preferred
- Circumcision experience is a plus

Responsibilities
- Manage Labor & Delivery, including high-risk obstetric cases
- Perform C-sections
- Manage spontaneous deliveries
- Perform GYN surgeries, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures
- All OB/GYN procedures required
- Round on postpartum patients
- Manage spontaneous deliveries presenting to the hospital from the covered practice
- Perform prescheduled C-sections
- Provide Labor & Delivery coverage, including high-risk obstetric cases
- Provide ER coverage when assigned to the unassigned ER call rotation
- Provide ER gynecology call as assigned
- Remain available for spontaneous labor patients from the covered practice
- Provide 24-hour inpatient coverage from 7a – 7a when scheduled
- Provide nursing and midwife-supported care in the Labor & Delivery unit
- Maintain documentation in Epic
