About The Position
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) at Tidelands Health is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified OB/GYN to join a growing community-based practice in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This is an employed position within MUSC Health, practicing in the Tidelands Health system and serving Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties. This is a full-time inpatient/outpatient practice opportunity driven by volume growth. The established program includes 11 OB/GYNs, two urogynecologists, and nine advanced practice providers, including six certified nurse midwives. The practice spans two acute-care hospitals and four outpatient practices; labor and delivery coverage is at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Midwives take first call, and physician call is shared among 10 physicians, with approximately 1:5 primary and backup call. Facilities include a Level II nursery, 12 operating suites, and two da Vinci Xi robotic surgery systems. The hospital has advanced certification in perinatal care from The Joint Commission and is designated Baby-Friendly by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Dedicated marketing and outreach support the physician’s success. Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Eligible for a medical license in South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN care in a community-based practice.
- Participate in shared physician call coverage, including primary and backup call.
- Provide labor and delivery coverage at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.
