About The Position

Sutter Medical Group is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join Sutter Amador OB/GYN in Jackson, California. This primarily obstetrics-focused position serves a rural, underserved population and offers continuity-based care in a community-focused practice. The physician will practice at Sutter Amador Hospital, a 53-bed rural hospital with an experienced labor and delivery nursing team. The practice averages 20–25 deliveries per month and has robotic-assisted surgery capabilities, with the opportunity to help grow and shape its gynecologic surgical program. On-site subspecialty services are limited, including no NICU, maternal-fetal medicine, or urology; referral relationships with nearby Sutter tertiary care centers support patient care. The role includes a 1:3 call rotation: weekday call Tuesday through Thursday for two weeks per month, plus one Friday-through-Monday weekend per month, totaling 10 call days monthly. Physicians also rotate one to two days per month at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento to maintain clinical skills and gain tertiary-care exposure. Physicians interested in education may participate in graduate medical education by teaching OB/GYN residents and Family Medicine residents in a rural residency track. Sutter Medical Group is a multispecialty group of more than 1,600 clinicians practicing across seven Northern California counties. The position is based in Jackson, a small community with access to outdoor recreation, wineries, and historic sites, approximately one hour from Sacramento.
