About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for an Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician in Santa Cruz, CA. The role involves providing 24-hour in-house hospital call coverage for the OB/GYN department. The physician will be responsible for performing vaginal deliveries and assisting with C-sections, triaging and managing OB ED patients, and monitoring patients on Pitocin while remaining onsite for the entire call shift. Assistance with urgent GYN surgeries may also be required. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a shift schedule of 24-hour call from 7:30a to 7:30a. Specialty backup is available from Perinatology and Neonatology, and support staff includes an Ultrasonographer and 24/7 Anesthesia. The facility uses the Cerner EMR system.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
• Active CA License
• Active DEA Certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Recent/current laborist experience required
• Clean background
• NPDB report

• No abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during C-sections)
