About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to provide call coverage for inpatient services in Pocatello, ID. This locum tenens position involves managing OB/GYN patients, including high-risk antepartum cases, and collaborating with on-campus Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists. The role requires supervision of family medicine residents in OB/GYN patient management and performing various deliveries and related procedures. Coverage is needed for night shifts and 24-hour shifts as needed, with a 30-minute response time for beeper calls. Additional dates are needed each month through December.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
Active ID or IMLC License
Ability to manage low risk pregnancy
Ability to manage high risk pregnancy
Ability to perform routine delivery
Ability to perform complicated delivery
Ability to perform C-section
Ability to perform breech delivery
Ability to perform multiple births delivery
Ability to manage abruptions
Ability to perform VBACs
Ability to repair 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Nice To Haves

Fellowship preferred
Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation
Operative/major (includes diagnostic) - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy

Responsibilities

Provide call coverage for obstetrics and gynecology services
Manage high-risk antepartum patients
Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists
Supervise family medicine residents in OB/GYN patient management
Perform deliveries (vaginal and C-section) and related procedures
Interpret FHR (NST/CST/FSE)
Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds (Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted)
Perform Amniocentesis
Manage routine and complicated deliveries including breech and multiple births
Manage abruptions and VBACs
Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
Perform laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (preferred)
Perform operative/major procedures (includes diagnostic) for ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy (preferred)
