About The Position

Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital is seeking a full-time 1.0 FTE Complex Family Planning OBGYN to join their Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role is ideal for board-certified or eligible physicians with fellowship training in complex family planning or equivalent experience, who are committed to clinical excellence, medical education, research, quality improvement, and advocacy. As a tertiary care academic hospital and a major referral site, JEPH is NAF-accredited and provides comprehensive abortion care within Pennsylvania state law. The physician will join a team including a CFP-trained Division Lead and generalists, with surgical backup. The position involves both Complex Family Planning-focused ambulatory responsibilities (medical and surgical abortion, pregnancy loss, advanced contraception, early pregnancy confirmation) and some inpatient generalist duties, including labor & delivery and/or general gynecology call. Clinical care will primarily be at the Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Campus, with potential for additional sites. Teaching responsibilities include supervising medical students and residents in a fully matched residency program, as well as training family medicine and emergency medicine residents.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Complex Family Planning subspecialty certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Completion of a Complex Family Planning fellowship.
  • Eligible to obtain a Pennsylvania and New Jersey medical license.
  • Expertise in full scope Complex Family Planning care, including dilation and evacuation up to 24 weeks gestation, office uterine aspiration, medication abortion, and complex contraception, including removal of non-palpable contraceptive implants.
  • Aptitude for and dedication to medical education, including direct teaching of medical students and residents.
  • Commitment to promoting health equity and collegiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Complex Family Planning (CFP) focused ambulatory care, including outpatient medical and surgical abortion, pregnancy loss management, and advanced contraception care.
  • Perform early pregnancy confirmation services.
  • Provide general OB/GYN ambulatory care as needed.
  • Fulfill inpatient generalist responsibilities, including labor & delivery and/or general gynecology inpatient call.
  • Provide clinical training and supervision to medical students and residents.
  • Train family medicine and emergency medicine residents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and advocacy related to complex family planning.
