About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is hiring a part-time OB Tech for rotating shifts, totaling 24 hours. Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB Tech assists with nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area. This includes providing patient care for comfort and hygiene, collecting data, and documenting care. Activities follow accepted operating room and obstetrical practice standards and remain within the employee’s education, training, and experience.

Requirements

Trade school graduate; LPN or Surgical Technologist education and training are accepted.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) RQI.

Nice To Haves

For candidates who are not LPNs, experience as a Surgical Tech and CST is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse.
Provide patient care necessary for comfort and hygiene.
Collect and document patient data.
