About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is hiring a part-time OB Tech for rotating shifts, scheduled for 24 hours. Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB Tech assists with nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area. This includes providing patient care for comfort and hygiene, collecting data, and documenting care. Activities follow accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and must be performed within the scope of the employee’s education, training, and experience.

Requirements

Trade school graduate.
LPN or Surgical Technologist education and training accepted.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), including RQI.

Nice To Haves

For candidates who are not LPNs, Surgical Tech experience and CST are preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse.
Provide patient care necessary for comfort and hygiene.
Collect patient data and document care.
