About The Position

The Nutrition Services Dishwasher works with Corewell Health’s Nutrition Services team to help deliver efficient, high-quality service that supports patients, team members, and visitors. The job description also describes senior technician responsibilities, including helping ensure exceptional meal service, resolving operational challenges, and supporting smooth department operations.

The position helps develop and uphold organizational procedures and ensures staff receive training in diet standards, food safety, patient-focused service, and department workflows, including the call center, trayline, tray delivery, dish room, and nourishments. The employee may assist as department lead when needed, answer inquiries, and reallocate team members during staffing shortages.

This is a full-time position at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, with 36 scheduled hours per week. The stated work hours are 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; days are variable, with every other weekend required.

Requirements

• CRT-Work Permit — listed as an unknown requirement for high school student employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop, communicate, and uphold organizational procedures and policies, and ensure staff are properly trained and compliant with established standards.
• Deliver comprehensive training for new Nutrition Services hires in diet standards, food safety protocols, patient-focused service, and department workflows.
• Be prepared to assist as department lead when needed, providing oversight and support for daily operations.
• Answer inquiries from patients, team members, nursing staff, and visitors.
• Reallocate team members during staffing shortages.
• Address team members professionally and appropriately in a high-volume food service environment.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with staff, peers, and leadership to promote transparency, teamwork, and operational efficiency.
• Share information proactively, support problem-solving, and contribute to a culture of trust, respect, and continuous improvement.
