About The Position

The Nutrition Services Associate performs tasks related to patient meal service, including timely assembly, final preparation, and delivery of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals. The role requires appropriate food-handling techniques and safety procedures, along with consistent, excellent customer service. The position is scheduled for 32 hours per week, with day and evening shifts and rotating weekends and holidays. This is a collective bargaining unit position. No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• Able to write and understand written and oral communications.
• Able to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or GED.
• Previous food industry or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient or guest-specific requirements.
• Consistently follow hand hygiene and infection control procedures when interacting with patients and guests.
• Restock areas as needed to meet department demands.
• Sanitize the assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
• Ensure cooking and serving equipment is prewashed, washed, and sanitized according to department procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
