About The Position

Meritus is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services Assistant to join its Nutrition Services team. The role helps deliver quality food service to patients, employees, and guests while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation. The schedule is 32 hours bi-weekly, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service, customer service, or healthcare preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to weigh and measure ingredients and perform basic math.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate temperature fluctuations and kitchen noise.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service, customer service, or healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, serve, and deliver meals according to daily production sheets.
• Sanitize kitchenware, food preparation areas, and service stations.
• Handle food safely and follow health and hygiene guidelines, including HACCP and TJC requirements.
• Label, date, and store food properly using the First In/First Out (FIFO) method.
• Support infection control and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols.
