About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide works under the supervision of Nutrition Services Supervisors/Assistant Director. The role performs a wide variety of food service tasks related to preparation, service, and cleanup, while maintaining safety, sanitation, and infection control standards in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The aide also performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or GED, or equivalent knowledge generally acquired through that education.
• California Food Handler Card from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited training provider that meets ASTM International E2659-09 Standard Practice for Certificate Programs.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least one year of food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Comply with hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Complete daily restock responsibilities.
• Participate in ongoing education activities.
• Use hospital supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Demonstrate and ensure quality service and food-safe practices.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a sanitary and orderly condition.
• Complete work responsibilities within specified timeframes.
• Complete required documentation.
• Demonstrate flexibility during and between heavy workload periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
