About The Position

The Nutrition Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting the management, planning, and coordination of activities within the Nutrition Services Department. This role aims to provide nutritional services to patients, employees, and guests. Key functions include implementing policies and procedures to guide administrative direction for cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing, and staff development. The Supervisor may also assist a Dietitian with nutrition assessments if they possess the necessary qualifications. Additionally, the Supervisor is tasked with fostering an environment and culture that enables the department to achieve its mission and goals. This includes promoting cultural diversity by ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, and culturally competent patient-centered care, maintaining an inclusive work environment, and integrating cultural diversity and sensitivity training into new employee orientation on an ongoing basis to cater to the diverse patient population served by the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Support management, planning and coordination of activities of the Nutrition Services Department
• Provide nutritional services to patients, employees and guests
• Implement policies and procedures for cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing and staff development
• Assist Dietitian with nutrition assessments if qualified
• Help create an environment and culture that enables the department to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals
• Support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided
• Promote and maintain an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity
• Ensure that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an on-going basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital
