The Nutrition Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting the management, planning, and coordination of activities within the Nutrition Services Department. This role aims to provide nutritional services to patients, employees, and guests. Key functions include implementing policies and procedures to guide administrative direction for cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing, and staff development. The Supervisor may also assist a Dietitian with nutrition assessments if they possess the necessary qualifications. Additionally, the Supervisor is tasked with fostering an environment and culture that enables the department to achieve its mission and goals. This includes promoting cultural diversity by ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, and culturally competent patient-centered care, maintaining an inclusive work environment, and integrating cultural diversity and sensitivity training into new employee orientation on an ongoing basis to cater to the diverse patient population served by the hospital.
