About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a PRN Nutrition Coordinator for its Patient Food Service team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. Nutrition Coordinators contribute to patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature. Assigned to units in a healthcare facility, they help patients make menu selections and assemble, deliver, and retrieve meal trays. They work with nursing, caregivers, and the culinary team to ensure patient orders meet nutritional requirements and accommodate allergies, sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
Requirements
- Less than one year of customer service experience is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Obtain patient preferences and modify tray identifiers accordingly.
- Support patient satisfaction and participate with a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of care and services.
- Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or inquiries about additional selections.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and promptly according to each patient's menu selection.
- Deliver and retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Communicate patient problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly and follow department procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
