About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Services unit at Baptist South. This is a PRN day-shift opportunity that requires call with a 40-minute response time and offers competitive call and differential pay. The Operating Room Registered Nurse works closely with physicians and operating room teams. The nurse checks in and receives patient assignments, which vary according to scheduled surgeries. Assignments may involve one patient in a complex case or multiple patients undergoing shorter procedures. As a Circulating Nurse, the RN meets patients in the operating room and remains with them throughout their procedures, ensuring appropriate care until transfer to PACU. The RN serves as the patient’s primary advocate and is responsible for delivering and documenting intra-operative care, which may include verifying patient information, positioning patients, managing the room, and initiating counts.

Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing.
2–3 years of Surgical Services experience.
2–3 years of Critical Care Nursing education.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Licensed Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Conscious Sedation Certification.
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.

Responsibilities

Work closely with physicians and operating room teams.
