About The Position

The Nutrition Care Representative works in the Food and Nutrition department, supporting patient meal service and related kitchen operations. The role transports and serves meals to patients on nursing units, assembles trays according to physician diet orders and patients’ selections, and enters meal selections into diet office software. It also includes dishroom duties and delivery of supplies to nursing units or other departments. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with weekend, holiday, and varying-day scheduling.

Requirements

• Basic math skills.
• Ability to be trained on diet office software and the hospital information system.
• Ability to use a printer, telephone, copier, and calculator.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to push 350 pounds on carts up and down ramps.
• Ability to perform repetitive turning, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport and serve meals to patients on nursing units.

• Wash pots and use the dish machine to clean patient and cafeteria dishes.
