About The Position

The Nutrition Aide works on the cafeteria line or patient tray line according to the procedures established in the department. The role includes preparing and restocking the assigned work area, performing food-service and dish-room duties, maintaining clean and sanitized work areas and equipment, storing unused products properly, and following safe food-handling practices. The aide also follows National Patient Safety Goals, particularly those related to patient identification and infection-control and sanitation standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Work on the cafeteria line or patient tray line according to departmental procedures.
• Stock the assigned work area before scheduled service and restock it after service.
• Perform assigned duties such as delivering trays and nourishments, delivering floor stock, and working in the dish room.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment to meet regulatory agency quality standards.
• Properly store products that are not being used.
• Practice safe food-handling procedures.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, especially those concerning patient identification and infection control and sanitation standards.
