About The Position
The Nutrition Services Aide supports delivery of nutrition services at Skilled Nursing at Coronado at Stone Oak. The position may involve preparing and serving food and beverages, setting dining tables and patient trays, washing dishes and cooking items, performing cleaning tasks, and delivering soiled linen to the laundry department. The aide helps maintain sanitation and quality standards, follows patient safety requirements and applicable care management procedures, and performs other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Current state Food Handler Certificate.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities
- Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, tableware, and utensils as needed.
- Clean and sanitize assigned equipment and complete assigned logs.
- Prepare dining room tables and patient room trays with proper tableware, condiments, and tray tickets.
- Perform food preparation tasks and assist with portioning servings.
- Prepare and serve beverages for trayline and dining rooms.
- Perform cleaning tasks according to established schedules.
- Prepare and/or deliver nourishment and supplements identified with patient labels.
- Maintain tray tickets, making changes as directed or needed.
- Deliver soiled linens to the laundry department.
- Identify and correct safety hazards.
- Fill assigned orders for between-meal nourishments.
- Wrap flatware in napkins, as applicable.
- Clear and wipe dining tables and trayline after meals.
- Maintain daily care of dishwashing, pot/pan, lavatory, and hand sinks, worktables, and dish storage areas.
- Empty trash cans per shift and clean them as assigned.
- Sweep and/or mop floors.
- Understand and enforce employee responsibilities under Cantex's Abuse Prevention Policy and Procedures.
- Attend in-services and understand and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
- Help assure patient and resident safety.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
