About The Position

River Park Hospital is currently hiring for 2 full time Nursing Supervisor positions. Both positions are full time and there is an option to work days (7a-7p) or nights (7p-7a). River Park is looking for an experienced psychiatric Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of mental health nursing experience. River Park Hospital operates a 165-bed licensed mental health facility serving the needs of patients of all ages. Our mission is to assist patients in returning to their lives with the highest level of mental health. We offer a full spectrum of programs, which include acute inpatient services for older children, adolescents, adults and older adults, along with a variety of psychiatric residential programs for both children and adolescents. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for directing, guiding, monitoring, and evaluating hospital staff during assigned shifts. Consults with the Director of Nursing, staff, physicians, and other members of clinical administration on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure that patient’s needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities and participates in hospital wide PI initiatives. Responsible for mentoring RNs, LPNs, MHTs and other clinical staff as needed. Provides coverage as a staff nurse as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in West Virginia required
  • Two years of mental health nursing experience required
  • One year nursing supervisory experience preferred
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse certification preferred

Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates the use of nursing process as a problem-solving model. Demonstrates a mastery of clinical skills related to patient’s mental health and physical health needs.
  • Demonstrates respect and understanding for peers and other clinical disciplines and participates as an effective member of the patient care team to formulate an integrated approach to care. Demonstrates leadership behaviors and is committed to the development of self and others. Leads staff by example.
