The Nursing Student Intern (NSI) role offers a unique opportunity for nursing students to work alongside experienced Registered Nurses in a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment. Under the direct supervision of an RN, the NSI provides fundamental patient care while developing the clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and hands-on skills necessary for a successful transition into professional nursing practice after graduation. As an integral member of the care team, the Nursing Student Intern participates in the nursing process, delivers compassionate patient-centered care, and contributes to a safe, healing environment for patients and families. This role is designed to foster professional growth, strengthen clinical competence, and provide valuable real-world experience in a nationally recognized cancer center. In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the NSI serves as a positive role model by promoting teamwork, supporting a culture of excellence, and upholding the mission, values, policies, and procedures of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Requirements

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Matriculation with at least one (1) year in an approved Nursing degree program
  • Completion of two (2) semesters of clinical experience.
  • Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with an anticipated graduation date between May 2027 and December 2027.
