About The Position

Advocate Health’s Social Media Internship allows students to gain experience working alongside social media professionals managing the 3rd largest non-for-profit’s social media presence. Interns will be able to gain valuable and marketable experience in the social media field.

Requirements

  • Passion for social media, marketing, writing and health care
  • College/university junior or senior, or recent graduate, obtaining BA/BS/MBA in public relations, marketing, journalism/mass communications or equivalent area of focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated and effective task manager
  • High level of creativity and ability to think outside of the box
  • Ability to work independently and think critically
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of social media and marketing strategies, journalism or media relations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produce social media posts for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram including graphics, written content, videos, etc.
  • Monitor social media activity on brand accounts, including reviews, messages, comments, etc.
  • Design graphics for Facebook and Instagram including infographics for social media platforms as needed.
  • Help with projects pertaining to management of social media accounts, audits and presentations.
  • Assist with profile reviews, managing social media databases, marketing projects and more.
  • Boost writing and editorial skills by assisting on a variety of external communications initiatives.
  • Gain experience in social media management tools.
  • Enhance business acumen by building relationships with administrative managers, directors and other department members.
  • Assist with ideation of social media initiatives.
