About The Position

Responsible for coordinating and optimizing nursing staff utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective patient care. Works collaboratively with unit leadership to implement and maintain the Master Staffing Plan, balancing patient acuity, census, and appropriate skill mix across all shifts. Develops and manages staff schedules using KRONOS, ensures timely communication of staffing needs, and coordinates coverage with PRN and wage pool staff. Monitors staffing patterns, maintains accurate documentation, and adjusts schedules as needed to address operational demands. Supports onboarding by providing schedules to new hires, responds to staff requests in a timely manner, and facilitates scheduling for education and performance improvement activities. Maintains strong communication with nursing leadership and staff while participating in required training and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of timekeeping and time scheduling of nursing staff.
  • Ability to utilize computerized scheduling equipment.
  • Basic record keeping skills.
  • Ability to allocate staff according to patient acuity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Nurse Scheduler.
  • Work experience in a Hospital setting.
