About The Position

The Nursing Intern is for students currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing or Med Surg course. The Nursing Intern performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The role includes direct and indirect patient care activities and support for other health care team members. The Nursing Intern may perform technical tasks after unit competency validation but is restricted from performing licensed tasks.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Completed a Fundamentals of Nursing or Med Surg course.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Nursing student; applicable experience listed as less than 1 year.
• Restricted from performing licensed tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures and provide care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Provide support to other health care team members.
• Perform technical tasks as permitted by unit competency validation.
