Nursing Home Administrator
About The Position
Life Care Center of Kona in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, is seeking a licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead its 94-bed skilled nursing facility. The Administrator provides leadership and direction for overall facility operations to support quality patient care in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role oversees financial operations, human resources, customer service, business development, and clinical operations; implements policies for patient care, staffing, financial control, public relations, and facility maintenance in consultation with the management team; and manages the budget to meet facility needs and division goals. The Administrator is also responsible for regulatory compliance, facility safety and cleanliness, community representation, census goals, annual budgeting, and effective team supervision. The annual salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current Nursing Home Administrator license in the applicable state, maintained in good standing throughout employment.
- Ability to read and interpret financial records and reports.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures and of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.
- Ability to implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships and confidentiality.
- Ability to follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures, and adhere to the company's Code of Conduct.
Nice To Haves
- Three or more years of successful post-acute care experience preferred.
- Certification with the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for overall facility operations and quality patient care.

- Implement policies concerning patient care, caregiving and support staff, financial control, public relations, and physical plant maintenance in consultation with the facility management team.
- Manage the budget to meet facility needs and division goals in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, and JCAHO requirements and serve as the facility's Compliance Liaison.
- Ensure the facility is clean and safe for patients, families, and staff.
- Represent the company effectively so the facility is viewed as a provider of choice in the community.
- Ensure census goals are met.
- Prepare and operate within the annual budget approved by the RVP and DVP.
- Effectively supervise the team.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
- Maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information; follow company policies and compliance procedures; and complete required compliance training.
