Nursing Coordinator, Data Analytics, Part Time Days, 7a - 3p, Atlantic Health, Morristown Medical Center
About The Position
This role is responsible for identifying cases through predetermined filters, performing case reviews, and conducting initial reviews to determine appropriateness for Committee review. The Nursing Coordinator selects and assigns cases to peers for review in consultation with Committee Chair(s). They perform clinical data abstraction and analysis for the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) and Surgery Quality & Performance Improvement Programs, providing clinical support. The position involves establishing and maintaining a functional system of collaboration for programmatic data and quality improvement needs, working closely with key personnel to ensure data accuracy and meaningful QI initiatives. A collaborative working relationship with Medical Director(s) and key personnel is essential to meet program goals. The role includes attending Committee meetings, recording minutes and discussion points, and generating correspondence to surgeons. The Nursing Coordinator tracks attendance, manages meeting-related correspondence, and maintains Committee rosters, attendance, and case volume logs. Dedicated support for Surgical PI and EGS-specific quality improvement activities is required, along with assisting in the administrative functions of the EGS Program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient in the use of Epic for chart abstracting
- Data analysis experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- 2-5 years of ED or ICU experience in the care of Emergency General Surgery patients
- 2-5 years quality care involvement
Responsibilities

- Attends Committee meetings and records minutes and discussion points on case presentations; Generates correspondence to surgeons whose cases were reviewed to request additional information
- Tracks attendance and is responsible for meeting related correspondence (reminders, meeting invitations, etc.)
- Maintains Committee rosters, attendance, and case volume logs
- Provides dedicated support for Surgical PI and EGS-specific quality improvement activities
- Assists in the administrative functions of the EGS Program
