About The Position
Messiah Lifeways is seeking PRN Nursing Assistants for its Enhanced Living (Personal Care) team in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Nursing Assistants help residents with daily life while supporting their independence, safety, and well-being. They work closely with the nursing team and provide compassionate, hands-on care to adults 55 and older. PRN team members must commit to at least 32 hours per month, including 16 weekend hours. After 90 days, team members may grow into a Med Tech role.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Comfort using technology, including Microsoft Office, point-of-care systems, and databases.
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and teammates.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organization skills to manage busy days.
- Commit to a minimum of 32 hours per month, including 16 hours on weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing Assistant training is preferred but not required.
- One year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
- Encourage residents to remain as independent as possible.
- Respond to call bells with care and urgency.
- Communicate with the Charge Nurse and Enhanced Living Director.
- Assist residents with transfers, such as moving from bed to chair.
- Report changes in residents’ physical or mental status.
