Nursing Assistant (NA) - Personal Care
About The Position
Messiah Lifeways is seeking PRN Nursing Assistants for its Enhanced Living (Personal Care) team. Nursing Assistants support residents with hands-on care, help make daily life safer and more enjoyable, and work closely with the nursing team to encourage residents’ independence. Team members must commit to at least 32 hours per month, including 16 weekend hours. After 90 days, team members may have the opportunity to grow into a Med Tech role. Messiah Lifeways serves adults aged 55 and older and describes its community as mission-driven, with a commitment to compassion, connection, and Christ-like love. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrate comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office, point-of-care systems, and databases.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, and teammates.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Have organizational skills to manage busy days.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing Assistant training is preferred but not required.
- One year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
- Encourage residents to maintain their independence whenever possible.
- Respond to call bells with care and urgency.
- Communicate with the Charge Nurse and Enhanced Living Director.
- Assist residents with transfers, such as from bed to chair.
- Report changes in residents’ physical or mental status.
