About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate care to patients during vulnerable and challenging moments. The position is located inside Methodist University in Memphis, Tennessee, and is full-time overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Compensation is $17.50 to $21.33 per hour. The employer offers an extensive Nursing Assistant orientation program, career development opportunities, and support for employee health and well-being. The position includes patient-care duties, participation in hourly rounds, transportation assistance, upkeep of equipment and rooms, and maintaining unit supplies.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Certification as a nursing assistant.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or being an actively enrolled RN student.

Responsibilities

Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
Participate in hourly rounds.
Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
