About The Position

Nursing Assistants work closely with nurses to provide direct patient care, support patients with activities of daily living, and help prevent complications. The role is onsite at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, New York, and is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts three times per week. The position requires work every other weekend and holiday. Before starting work on the unit, the employee must complete one full week of mandatory orientation training, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
BLS certification; training will be provided if needed.
Complete one full week of mandatory orientation training, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., before starting work on the unit.
Frequent use of hands and fingers, such as operating a computer keyboard.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for work tasks.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Availability to work 12-hour night shifts three times per week, including every other weekend and holiday.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including toileting, ambulating, and repositioning patients.
Monitor and record fluid intake and output and patient weight.
Obtain vital signs and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to the RN.
Reinforce patient education, including incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
Maintain a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
Intentionally round on each patient every hour.
